“That was regrettable. That was essentially an interaction with Cowboys supporters seated near me,” Jones stated during a radio appearance. “Present was a swarm of Dallas supporters—not New York fans, our fans. The entire stadium was filled with excitement for the Cowboys.”
He further clarified that the gesture was entirely unintentional, happening amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I just showed the wrong digit,” he noted. “The action was accidentally performed. This is sincere. If you want to call it unplanned, you can. However, it got resolved rapidly.”

- Panthers owner David Tepper was penalized $300K for tossing a beverage at fans in January 2024.
